As I could not find any decent playthroughs on Youtube of this classic Dos game, I have uploaded a copy, with a perfect score, to the Sierranut youtube account. It was the first Sierra game that I played so it has a lot of nostalgic value. Back in late 1990 it took me over a year to complete (and probably longer, I cant recall). Sierra adventure games at the time had no replay value and after having struggled to complete the quest (no walkthroughs available on the net) it was left. There were better games available, even from Sierra (Space Quest 3 was also released around 1990), not to mention the classic Civ. But, I guess for a young lad it was cool to be able to play a character that could draw a gun and start blasting left and right (Sod/Doom/Quake etc answered that call). And when Ultima Underworld was released, I quickly acquired a copy, and played it simply for the first-person 3D (cant even remember the storyline, if there was one...).
This game took a long time to complete for a pre-teenage kid, and other Sierra classics like Space Quest 3 and Larry 1 (in glorious AGI!) proved both more fun to play and were more intuitive. I guess Police Quest tried to be too true to life, with propert police procedures, that it became technical. I even remember seeing somewhere on the net that the previous game (Police Quest, 1 [naturally]) had been used by some law enforecement agencies as a rookie trainer (?!). Anyway, enjoy the playthrough. I am considering putting another playthrough on youtube: Manhunter San Francisco. This game came bundled with my Police Quest 2 in some sort of Sierra value pack (guess they would not have been able to sell it otherwise...). That game is not too bad...
